Scotland June 2022

After a prosperous (bus) journey from Glasgow, we arrived at the ‘Sloy Power Station’ stop.
Familiar territory because my February trip ended right here where I had decided not to do this one (Ben Vorlich) in the end. (but you’ll read about that in

this report

).

Circumstances impossible to compare;
after the spring storms, snow and rain during that period now beautiful beautiful weather!

Also extra days off for fellow British hikers this period because the Queen is celebrating her anniversary so ‘busy in the mountains’ on Fridays too.

My advantage, when I walk up in the late afternoon, is that the others are on their way down and it ends up being just lovely and quiet again!

Surely that is the richness of this whole exercise:
Of course it’s a lot of effort to come this way but you know the view is well worth all the effort, and hustle, in the end!

So this is what I look forward to the weeks before I travel, but especially on the travel days themselves.

Imagine sitting all alone atop a Munro (in this case, the Ben Vorlich) with a cup of tea with this view.

I speak, write, briefly for myself but it is more than worth it.
