Maastricht - Eindhoven (with a loop of Helmond)

"on the road in your own country!

With Scotland still not an option this time not on a bike (see this report) but hiking in our own country.

In the end, see previous reports, still hiking with “the big backpack” for an 8-day trek.

Basically the standard routine for Scottish Munro adventures; 8 days of provisions, clean socks and underwear and of course bring the tent and hike!

Put Komoot next to the website of Natuurkampeertereinen.nl and created a route from Maastricht to Eindhoven.

On the right are the “totals” where I especially want to emphasize again that, even in the Netherlands, I walk wonderfully quietly all day! Average over a day does not exceed 4.5 km. per hour. Then again, this is more than 2x as fast as in the mountains. Then, on a “standard day,” if you start hiking at 08:30 in the morning and pitch your tent again at 20:00 on puts (with, very, frequent breaks in between too!) still manage to cover distances.

Below is another picture of the total route in Komoot (looks like an advertisement) and below that my “sources” and the link to the first page.

I chose this time to put the whole route (in the form of a collection, that is) on public. The advantage here is that all photos are tagged at the position (map) where they were taken.

I am looking at how to share routes (not all of them of course) publicly.

Below is a first test from Komoot.

Clicking on the blue text to the left below the image will take you to “the collection.
(all hiking days including an overall view).

I already had the image below that in this report, so it is the total route walked.
Look especially at Day 3 where this is so during a Covid period, incl. lock down, was.
