Another beautiful little village! (Champex-sur-Lac), this time in Switzerland (Valais), where we’ll definitely be going back someday!

The valley below (after a lovely trail through the woods) lies just above this village.
At the end (at the top), you can see the basin where the boulders are located below.

The trail itself was like a dream—so beautifully rolling and charming! (Until you reach the boulders, that is! 😀 )

At the peak of the day, I ran into a small group that had come up from the other side and pointed me toward a nice place to sleep (in a barn on the next mountain). (See tomorrow.)

To me they asked what their next stretch (for me a climb, so for them a descent) was like.

Honestly told I found this to be the most difficult (ok most challenging) part of my entire route so far.

Factored into that, of course, is that it is Day 9 but more importantly, these big boulders take up a lot of time
(much more than I had estimated anyway!)
