If you have to book a hotel somewhere anyway, this is truly a beautiful place. (See also the photos below.)

Hotel itself was in the alley on the left (middle photo) and actually it was very convenient to recharge all the batteries for a while (see photo), take a bath (2x!), eat well but also do some shopping.

In addition to the standard gas canisters, I also brought new hiking poles (I broke one again on this trip, so I switched from carbon to aluminum), a pair of shorts, a cap, and a thermos (I lost the thermos during the fall that caused the hiking pole to break—my own fault!).

Anyway, it’s a good thing this wasn’t filmed; “fall” sounds too dramatic for an incident that ended with me sitting down (!!??) after my left walking stick broke. On top of that, my thermos fell out of the side pocket and rolled away to a spot I couldn’t reach.

The last photo might just be the most beautiful campsite ever!
