8th Scottish Adventure, October 2023

Scotland
'Bridge of Orchy 7'
Day 6 of 7
Sunday, October 8

Station Dahlwinnie to
1st, 2nd ,3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th night!!???

Where I wrote about my previous adventure with
blush on my cheeks
that I had set up my tent only 2x
I must now confess that this adventure
was only 1 (ONE!!) time.

It's really starting to look like clamping now,
especially if you include the view
in this observation.

Outrageous!
Next x just plan another real
'trek' like in
previous adventures!

0 Munro's this day:

Zero! so

I could not initially place the situation in the first photo of this page.

From a distance, these 3 deer stood side by side so beautifully
that I thought they were people.

Indians who were waiting for me on a ridge
to see if I came in peace.

Wrong storyline in a different setting
but this was even nicer.
These 3 deer knew I was coming to enjoy their beautiful backyard
for a week and welcomed me this way.

I'm really going to look for a good camera now!

In this photo, they are "behind each other"
where before they were "side by side.

This is also nice but that other scene was really
just like they were waiting for.

Were looking at me with genuine wonder.
Unfortunately, that photo, with my current Olympus Though 6,
is not sharp enough to post here.

I capture stories through video and photography.

My good friend Edwin Veer transforms them into stunning visuals.

Most Beautiful Video

The Three Stags are waiting for me at the entrance to this beautiful valley.

To get there, you first have to walk past this beautiful loch!

Details
this day

1. First walk of this adventure

If you want to go this way, be sure to take a close look at my first steps!
Don't take the crosswalk with the phone (see photo), but head straight to the road and eventually through the tunnel to the dam.

Is very strange that suddenly there is a telephone at a railroad crossing.
And when you call it is answered!

Nice conversation in which I could not refrain from asking "where are you!"?
That was disappointing because this turned out to be just in Dahlwinnie.
No doubt it was a misunderstanding but from this conversation I understood that I had to return to the station. There cross the footbridge and then on to the Loch.

May well have missed something but that doesn't work either.

Pretty clever to run wrong twice in the first few hundred meters!

2. Cyclists

I’ve never seen so many cyclists in Scotland.
I don’t usually say hello to them, but these turned out to be remarkably friendly people! There were also lots of bike packers setting up their tents at the Bothie.

More on that in the full video!

It’s funny that so many cyclists were heading toward this beautiful area on their bikes while carrying hiking backpacks (including hiking poles). It’s completely understandable because the long stretch along the loch (stunning!) is just as beautiful on a bike as it is on foot—even after you’ve done it once.

3. Cottages

I am very happy with my Hilleberg cottage but here are some wonderful cottages too. Check out the photos and videos later how people live like god in Scotland here! As I was walking back (day 7) there was 2x a private jet coming over the Loch 'waving' its wings at the level of the Castles.

This is just to give you an idea of the residents’ standard of living.

On the way to the airport in a taxi, the driver told me who lives here.
The three castles belong to a single owner, and when I heard the name, I realized that this—including the jet—makes perfect sense.
