Scotland 'Ben Alder 9' - Day 1 - Thursday, May 1
May 2025 - 12th Scottish Adventure Standard 7 days (click here for explanation)Station Dahlwinnie to
1st, 2nd ,3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th night!!???
Where I wrote down my previous adventure with
blush on my cheeks
that I had set up my tent only 2x
I must now confess that this adventure
was only 1 (ONE!!!) time.
It’s really starting to look like clamping now,
especially if you include the view
in this observation.
Shameful!
Next x but again we will plan a real
“trek” like in
previous adventures!
0 Munro’s this day:
Zero! so
I could not initially place the first photo on this page.
From a distance, these 3 deer were standing so nicely
side by side that I thought they were people.
Indians waiting for me on a ridge
to see if I came in peace.
Wrong storyline in a different setting
but this was even nicer.
These 3 deer knew I was coming to enjoy their beautiful backyard
for a week and welcomed me this way.
I’m really going to look for a good camera now!
In this photo, they are “behind each other”
where before they were “side by side.
This is also beautiful but that other scene was really
just like they were waiting for.
Looking at me with justified wonder.

Most Beautiful Video
The 3 Deer are waiting for me at the entrance to this beautiful valley. To get there you must first hike along this beautiful Loch!
Details
this day
1. First walk of this adventure
The photo is the road from Dahlwinnie station to the first place to sleep.
A9 is not shown but so it runs here to the left of the walking/cycling path.
To the right, between the water and the hill, runs the rails of the train and I always have to look myself in the arm when I am back in this beautiful country after a while. It is like being allowed to peek into a living viewing box while being fully part of the elements around you. Rain, sun, wind but above all the realization that it is a gift to be here every time!
2. A9
Unconsciously driven across the A9 many times.
Very long time ago but also from the moment I started this, hopefully never ending, quest in 2020.
Bagging Munro’s.
By bus, very occasionally the cab, but so now walking.
3. Bicycle path/hiking trail
Take a good look at the map because so there is a beautiful path along the A9.
That one starts from Dahlwinnie so for that, take a good look at how to get there.
I will come back to the misery of walking next to this A9 but that was my own fault too.
