‘Ben alder 9’
day 6 of 7

The Longest Day!
If you look at the listing
on my waterproof paper
on the first day there was 1 Munro left!
1 Munro this day:
Beinn Èibhinn
Again, this Munro planned based on information from fellow Munro-Baggers on WalkHighlands.
Below are the links to the day’s Munros:

I capture stories through video and photography.
My good friend Edwin Veer transforms them into stunning visuals.

The Last Day!
Of course, after a week outside
you feel like going back to civilization.
Yet every time I catch myself doing this
I do so with pain in my heart.
There is nothing better than
simply “being”
.
Of course, it is incredibly luxurious to have to worry
only about
the route, the weather, your food
and finding your tent again.
In this case, it is at the end of this path.
Small right turn toward the tree line
and then turn toward the lake.
The realization that you were allowed to “be”
for a week in this
beautiful setting
is priceless.
The realization that this is not a goodbye
but a beginning of the next
adventure is at least
as valuable!
Most Beautiful Video
Of course I look forward to finding my tent after a long day of hiking (and resting!).
My sleeping bag,way too thick and too big sleeping mat; wonderful!!!
Only downside is that, fortunately for a short time, I have to say goodbye to this beautiful area.
Details
this day
1. Globemaster (Boeing C-17A).
I was just sitting in my tent taking off my shoes when I heard a rolling sound approaching.
A sound that doesn’t belong in this environment so at first I couldn’t bring it home. When I realized it was a plane flying, very, low over my little tent (but actually the lake), I was too late.
My Camera and Go Pro were on the other side of the tent but I was still in time to enjoy the moment when this ‘Globemaster’ came flying over.
2. Content
Nice example between “being in the moment” and “capturing that moment.
I realized that I normally have all day to capture these beautiful surroundings. Caught myself regretting not arriving at my tent 5 minutes later. Immediately afterwards, therefore, I had to chuckle again that this is precisely the beauty of “the moment.
3. Goulash!
The last evening also means the last meal.
If the weather is nice I do this outside of course but unfortunately these are the exceptions. In preparation, I always get 6 different meals from Beaver. I put these in a separate large bag that I have left over from a previous life as a ‘laundry bag’.
It’s actually a net that you can button up which has the advantage that you can see what you’re grabbing. Dinner is always a surprise but secretly I save the best for last.
Goulash.
